What it's about
The title lays out the premise directly: a rural setting where the lead takes charge of the big ladle (掌大勺) — the countryside way of saying they run the kitchen — and cooks well enough that villagers want a feast every single day (村民天天想吃席). It's a down-to-earth, food-centered rural comedy, built around a cook whose skill wins the whole village over one meal at a time.
